How credits work

Swaptic is a time bank. Members exchange hours of skill, not money.

1 hour = 1 credit

Regardless of the skill. An hour of English and an hour of coding settle on the same clock. There is no surge, no skill premium, no cash conversion.

Held until both confirm

When you book to receive a session, credits are held immediately. They return if the swap is cancelled before both people mark it complete. When both confirm, the teacher is paid in credits.

Starter balance

New members receive 2 starter credits so a first booking is possible. Earn more by teaching.

Membership

Anyone 16 or older can join. List a skill you can teach, book an hour you want to learn, and settle on the same clock. New members start with two credits.

Not cash

Credits have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, and are not a wage. Sessions are peer arrangements between members, not employment by Swaptic.

The hour can be remote

Every booked swap includes a private video room — camera, microphone, and screen share — so the hour can happen even if you are not in the same city. Join it from Swaps. Swaptic does not record the call.

Plus and boosts

Swaptic Plus is an optional paid membership: featured listings and more open swaps. It does not add credits. Yearly is cheaper than twelve months — about four months free. You can stop renewal at any time; Plus stays until the period ends, and every credit you earned stays on the clock. Boost pins one listing for seven days. Teams and category partners are billed in cash in USD, EUR, GBP, or PLN. Membership is cash. Credits are still time and cannot be withdrawn.

Disputes

Open a credit dispute from a swap if the hour did not happen as booked. An admin may release a hold or leave the session standing. That step only moves time on the clock. It is not a court, an insurer, or a finding about quality, injury, or anyone’s legal rights. Member disputes are between members. Swaptic is not a party and is not liable for them.
