The clock

How credits work

Swaptic is a time bank. Members exchange hours of skill, not money.

1 hour = 1 credit

Regardless of the skill. Teaching guitar and receiving Spanish tutoring settle on the same clock. There is no surge, no skill premium, no cash conversion.

Held until both confirm

When you book to receive a session, credits are held immediately. They return if the swap is cancelled before both people mark it complete. When both confirm, the teacher is paid in credits.

Starter balance

New members receive 2 starter credits so a first booking is possible. Earn more by teaching.

Membership

Anyone 16 or older can join. List a skill you can teach, book an hour you want to learn, and settle on the same clock. New members start with two credits.

Not cash

Credits have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, and are not a wage. Sessions are peer arrangements between members, not employment by Swaptic.

Disputes

Open a dispute from a swap. Admins may refund a hold or keep the session standing. You can report or block a member from their profile.
